RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Madison East, Madison Gonzales and Kira O'Donell each scored twice to lead California Baptist to a come-from-behind 8-6 win over the Santa Clara women's water polo in Friday's Golden Coast Conference opener.
Hannah Buck had three goals and Annie Eldredge posted two assists and four steals for the Broncos (4-10, 0-1).
Kelly Frumkin scored shortly after halftime to extend the Santa Clara lead to 4-2, but the Lancers (11-9, 1-0) reeled off the next six goals.
East and O'Donelll each tallied a pair of goals in a 3-minute span midway through the third period to turn the game around.
Gonzales and Krista Krantz scored in the opening minute of the fourth quarter to increase the lead to 8-4.
Buck added a pair of late goals.
Lydia Dadd suffered the loss in net despite making 11 saves.
Neither team was able to connect with the man advantage. The Broncos went 0-for-8 and the Lancers were scoreless in five chances.
