Women's Golf Finishes 10th at The Gold Rush

SEAL BEACH, Calif. - Lauren Shew finished tied for 26th and Sarah Busey and Olivia Venderby capped off The Gold Rush for Santa Clara women's golf with their best rounds of the tournament on Tuesday.

The Broncos, playing in their second event of the season, finished 10th at the two-day event at Old Ranch Country Club with a 74-over-par total of 938 (312-313-313).

Shew shot rounds of 81-73-77 to finish at 15-over 231, Busey was two shots back in a tie for 30th with rounds of 79-78-76 and Naomi Wong carded a 20-over total of 236 (78-80-78) and was tied for 35th.

Led by Allisen Corpuz, who was the individual champion at 10-under-par 206 (69-71-66), USC easily won the event with an even-par score of 864 (290-290-284). UNLV and Cal Poly were tied for second but 34 strokes off the pace.

In her first tournament of the season, Emily Sumner was tied for 39th at 22-over 238 (74-82-82). Marie Jordaan was 32-over 248 (84-82-82) and finish tied for 55th to round out the Santa Clara team

Playing as an individual in her first collegiate event, Venderby has shot rounds of 86-81-78 (245) and ended the event 52nd overall.
