Women's Golf 11th After 36 Holes at Gunrock Invitational

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Santa Clara women's golf sits in 11th place after 36 holes of the Gunrock Invitational, which is being held at Del Paso Country Club.

The Broncos improved their score by 14 stokes from the first to the second round on Monday but were unable to move up the team standings. They are at 28-over-par 604 (309-295).

Lauren Shew is tied for 37th with a 6-over total of 150 (76-74). Sarah Busey and Naomi Wong are one shot back in a tie for 43rd. Busey had rounds of 78-73 and Wong carded a 77 and followed with a collegiate-best 74.

Emily Sumner is tied for 50th at 152 (78-74) and Olivia Venderby is tied for 64th at 162 (84-78).

The Broncos have a chance to move up the leaderboard in the final round as they trail Northern Colorado by three and only six back of ninth place Nevada.

Playing as an individual, Marie Jordaan had a total of 155 (75-80) and is tied for 56th at 11-over.

The tournament concludes Tuesday with the third round which has an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Live scoring can be viewed at Golfstat.com.
