Women's Golf Set to Compete in WCC Championship

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara women's golf heads into postseason play this week.

The Broncos will be competing in the three-day West Coast Conference Championship which begins on Thursday.

Sarah Busey, Lauren Shew, Emily Sumner, Marie Jordaan and Naomi Wong will comprise the Santa Clara lineup at the tournament that will take place at Reflection Bay Golf Club in Henderson, Nevada, located outside Las Vegas.

The Broncos participated in five regular season events, including last week's Fresno State Classic.

Busey's second-round 70 was the best of the season for her and Shew carded a collegiate-best 70 in the opening 18 holes.

Sumner (76.50), Shew (76.73) and Busey (76.80) lead the team in stroke average.

The field at the WCC Championship also includes BYU, Gonzaga, Pepperdine and San Francisco.

Due to the COVID-19 pamdemic, the 2020 league tournament was canceled.

Busey led the way in 2019 with a fourth-place finish.
