Women's Golf Set for Wyoming Cowgirl Classic

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Following a month without competition, Santa Clara women's golf returns to play in the annual Wyoming Cowgirl Classic.

The 20-team event will take place Monday and Tuesday at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona.

Lauren Shew, Sarah BuseyEmily SumnerNaomi Wong and Olivia Venderby will comprise the team for Santa Clara. Marie Jordaan will compete as an individual.

Wyoming serves as the host school for an event the Broncos have participated in annually and enjoyed success. The tournament was canceled last season, but they finished second in 2019 led by top 10 finishes from Busey (tied for second) and Sumner (ninth). Former Annie Freman was a tri-champion of the event in 2014.

The Broncos were last in action at the Gunrock Invitational (March 1-2), in Sacramento, California, where they finished 11th.

Boise State, CSU Bakersfield, Cal State Fullerton, Eastern Washington, Gonzaga, Grand Canyon, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana State, Nevada, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado, Portland State, Seattle, South Dakota State, Southern Utah and UTEP round out the field at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic.
