Homestand Continues for Softball Against Pacific

SANTA CALRA, Calif. – Santa Clara softball continues its season-long seven-game homestand with a visit from Pacific. The Broncos and Tigers play a doubleheader beginning at noon Saturday and close out the series Sunday at noon.

Santa Clara won in walk-off fashion to open its series with LMU Friday but dropped the next two games.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (10-30, 2-4 WCC) has scored 133 runs on the season and is hitting .259 as a team with 50 doubles, seven triples, and six home runs.

Eleni Spirakis leads the team in average (.358), on-base percentage (.422), runs scored (28), and home runs (2). Sammy Needham is hitting .303 with a .406 OBP and a team-best 13 doubles to go with 17 RBIs and 12 runs scored. Regan Dias has 17 RBIs and 18 runs scored to go with a .291 average and a .414 OBP behind a team-high 21 walks. Hannah Russell's 26 RBIs lead Santa Clara and she is hitting .276.

In the circle, Dias leads the Broncos in innings with 91 and is tied for the team lead with four complete games. Lauren Anderson also has four complete games in 90 1/3 innings and Lauren Schiek has tossed 52 1/3 innings.

THE TIGERS
Pacific (15-27, 1-8 WCC) has been outscored on the season 233-128 and is hitting .234 as a team with a .312 OBP. The Tigers have 42 doubles, six triples, and 19 home runs.

Madison Kahwaty leads the team with a .298 batting average and nine doubles to go with five home runs and 16 runs scored. Jessica Mabrey also has five home runs and a team-high 22 RBIs with a .254 batting average. Carly Luchetti is hitting .296 with 19 runs scored and Hailey Reed has a .256 batting average to go with 19 runs scored as well.

Reed leads Pacific in ERA (3.08), starts (17), complete games (11), shutouts (4), innings pitched (102.1), and strikeouts (104). Myka Sutherlin has tossed 83 innings with Kenya Lindstrom tossing 60 1/3 and Bethany Hammer adding 29.

Gates to the Santa Clara Softball Stadium, as well as its ticket booth, are open one hour prior to the start of the game.

Parking: For weekday games, the Leavey Center lot, located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to first pitch. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located on Palm Drive.
