SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Five Santa Clara softball players were for their academic work by the West Coast Conference on Friday. Kelsie Barnard and Eleni Spirakis were named to the All-Academic team with Taylor Burns, Jordan Dawkins, and Kat Sanchez taking home honorable mention.

Spirakis is a Mechanical Engineering major with a 3.94 GPA and is on the All-Academic team for the second year in a row. She leads Santa Clara with a .340 batting average, 35 runs scored, and two home runs while also adding 13 doubles, two triples, 15 RBIs, and 10 stolen bases.

Barnard, a Chemistry major, has a 3.56 GPA. This is the senior's third consecutive All-Academic nod. The WCC Player of the Week is hitting .318 with a home run, eight doubles, 13 runs scored, and 25 RBIs.

Burns is a Management major with a 3.22 GPA. She has scored three runs with an RBI this season.

Dawkins has a 3.56 GPA as a Communication major and was All-Academic a year ago. This season she has scored eight runs to go with six RBIs and has three doubles.

Sanchez is majoring in Computer Science & Engineering and has a 3.78 GPA. She has scored five runs and driven in 11.
