SANTA CALRA, Calif. – Santa Clara softball concludes the 2019 season with a three-game home series against BYU. The Broncos host the Cougars Friday at 4 and 6 p.m. and Saturday at 11 a.mm. Prior to the game Saturday, there will be a Senior Day ceremony for Kelsie Barnard, Morgan Modesto, and Jordan Dawkins.

Last week, Santa Clara went on the road and swept San Diego while scoring 24 runs in three games. The Broncos have won four of their last five contests.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (15-32, 7-5 WCC) is hitting .271 as a team with a .357 on-base percentage and has scored 170 runs.

Eleni Spirakis leads the team with a .340 batting average, 35 runs scored, and two home runs while adding 13 doubles, two triples, 15 RBIs, and 10 stolen bases. Hannah Russell's 25 RBIs leads the Broncos and she is second in hitting with a .319 average. Russell has added eight doubles, a home run and 10 runs scored. Kelsie Barnard, the WCC Player of the Week, is batting .318 with 17 RBIs and 13 runs scored. Sammy Needham's 14 doubles are a team-high and she is batting .314 with 20 RBIs.

Regan Dias has appeared in 26 games and leads the team with 20 starts, five complete games, and 114 1/3 innings pitched. Lauren Schiek has appeared in a team-high 29 games, all but one out of the bullpen, and has two saves in 60 2/3 innings. Lauren Anderson has started 18 games and appeared in 10 more out of the bullpen with four complete games and has thrown 99 2/3 innings.

THE COUGARS
BYU (26-22, 10-2 WCC) is hitting .279 as a team and has outscored its opponents 231-185 on the year. The Cougars have posted a team ERA of 3.08.

Rylee Jensen is leading the team with a .404 batting average, 38 runs scored, 13 doubles, 10 home runs, and 31 RBIs. Libby Sugg is hitting .312 with six home runs and 25 RBIs to go with 11 doubles and 17 RBIs. Taylei Williams (.307) and Lexi. Tarrow (.301) are both hitting over .300.

Arissa Paulson leads the team with 140 1/3 innings pitched and 104 strikeouts in 28 games, including 24 starts, with 13 complete games and four shutouts. Autumn Moffat's 2.59 ERA leads BYU has she has tossed 113 1/3 innings.

Parking: For weekday games, the Leavey Center lot, located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to first pitch. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located on Palm Drive.
