Pullman, WASH. - This weekend the Santa Clara women's tennis team faced off against the University of Idaho on Saturday and No. 41 Washington State on Sunday. Despite strong performances from the Broncos, the combination of unfavorable weather conditions and tough opponents proved too much. The team fell 0-4 on Saturday to Idaho and No. 41 Washington State got the better of the Broncos, winning 0-6 on Sunday. The Broncos are now 4-14 on the season.

On Saturday against University of Idaho the Broncos fought hard through the doubles matches, but were not able to finish out all six singles matches. SCU doubles pair Myra Davoudi and Lindsay McBride fought hard to get a victory over Idaho's Yvette Ly and Alexandra Ulesanu, winning 8-6. Only the first three singles matches were able to finish out. Freshman Carmen Pham and Ashley Pane at the number 4 and 5 singles positions were not able to finish their matches and Samantha Georgino's match against Natalie Kirch was not played.

The Broncos fought hard again on Sunday against the No. 41 Washington State Cougars, but it was not enough to pull out a victory. The Davoudi/McBride doubles team was able to pull out a second win of the weekend against WSU's Bianca Selaru and Marina Nicolas, 8-6. However, Davoudi and number two singles did not play her match against Aleksandra Stefanova.

The Broncos are back in action this weekend as they host WCC opponent San Francisco on Saturday, April 12 and again on Monday, April 14 hosting Texas Pan-American. First serve on Saturday is set for 10 AM.
