MORAGA, Calif. - The second day of the Saint Mary's Invitational wrapped up for the Broncos with Ashley Pane and two doubles teams making it to the Quarterfinals in Sunday's Red flight matches.
In the main draw of the Singles Red draw of the tournament, Ashley Pane finally fell in the Quarterfinals. The match and Pane's play finally ended 6-3;6-3 to Stephanie Ordoveza from Saint Mary's.
Two doubles teams also competed in the Quarterfinals of the main Doubles Red main draw. Carmen Pham and Lindsay McBride battled it out against opponents Jenna Tanzer and Stefanie Doolittle from Portland before being defeated 8-3. Courtney Hull and Meghan Madden also were up against a Portland team where they too fell 8-3. Myra Davoudi and Stephanie Galainena competed in the Consolation round of the Doubles Red flight where they fell 8-3 in their match against Pacific.
In the Singles Blue Consolation round of the invitational, Lindsay McBride fell behind in the first set, but stormed back to win the second set 6-1. However, she was unable to outlast her opponent Desiree Stone of Davis and finally fell in the third-set supertiebreaker 0-6;6-1;1-0(11-9). Also in the Consolation round was Senior Myra Davoudi who fell 6-1;6-1 to Rachael Dillon from Cal.
The Bronco women wrap up their fall season right down the street in Stanford at the ITA Northwest Regionals this weekend, Friday Oct. 19 - Monday Oct. 22.
