SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara University baseball team travels to Moraga, Calif. Friday for the first game of a three-game series against West Coast Conference rival Saint Mary's College this weekend at Louis Gusto Field.
The Broncos are 7-2 in WCC games and lead the league's Coast Division by three games over second-place San Francisco and Gonzaga. Loyola Marymount is in fourth-place in the division, four games behind Santa Clara. The Broncos are 10-17 overall and have won eight of their last 10 games.
Santa Clara's eight-game win streak ended last weekend with a pair of losses at Gonzaga. After taking the first game of the series by a 8-4 score, the Broncos dropped the next two games by scores of 8-7 (10 innings) and 10-7.
Saint Mary's is 3-6 in league play and 9-17 overall and is coming off a series win at Portland last weekend. The Gaels won two of three games against the Pilots, including a dramatic 10-9 victory on Sunday.
Following the Saint Mary's series, the Broncos return to the road for a two-game series against nationally-ranked Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla. The first game is scheduled for Tuesday at 5 p.m. (Pacific) while Wednesday's contest begins at noon.
The next home game is scheduled for Friday night, April 6 against Pepperdine.
