Women's Golf Hosting 6th Annual Colby Invitational at Silver Creek

ROUND ONE RESULTS

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -
Named in honor of MaryGrace
Colby, who founded and coached most all women's sports at Santa Clara University beginning in 1963, the Bronco women's golf program will host its 6th Annual SCU Colby Invitational Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 19-20.

The small four-team event will be held at Silver Creek Country Club in South San Jose. Santa Clara will play alongside Cal State Northridge, Boise State and Cal State Bakersfield.

Santa Clara is enjoying a successful fall campaign, with senior Monique Riley breaking the program's all-time tournament scoring record (7-under par) last week in Colorado. Riley finished runner-up in a large national field of 99 players.

"This is the best scoring we've had in years, by far," said Santa Clara head coach Krystal Kelly on the team's performance this season. "Our roster is very deep. On any given day, one of our 10 players could be in the lineup. That's a product of their hard work, so I am really proud of this team."

Sophomore Kristin Le has posted a pair of top-10 finishes through three events. Hometown product Kyleigh Moreno (pictured) placed in the top-10 during SCU's season-opener in Utah.
