RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Santa Clara women's golfers hold the top four spots on the individual leaderboard and the Broncos have a 14-stroke lead after 36 holes of the Battle at the Rock, competed at the 6,028-yard, par-72 Oak Quarry Golf Club in Riverside.

Sophomore Kristin Le had the best score of the day with a first-round 1-over 73 to jump out to a lead, and fired a second-round 77 to take a 6-shot lead over teammate Annie Freman into Tuesday's final round. Freman recorded identical rounds of 78.

Senior Monique Riley sits in fourth place with a total of 157, seven shots behind Le. Playing as an individual, senior Meghan Shain carded rounds of 79 and 77 to tie with Freman for second place at 156 on the individual leaderboard.

"Today's conditions were more challenging than at Wood Ranch (Matador Invitational). There were steady winds with strong gusts," head coach Krystal Kelly noted. "Overall, the team played well stayed present. We're looking forward to getting back on the course in the morning."

Working around treacherous conditions, the Broncos scored a first-round team score of 310 to take a 10-shot lead after the opening 18 holes. They increased the lead with a second round 316 and own a 14-shot advantage over tournament host UC Riverside. Butler is third, 22-shots off the Broncos' pace.

Sophomore Isabella Salant, one of three Broncos competing as an individual, climbed 17 spots with a second-round 2-over 74, moving into a tie for 11th. She bounced back from a first-round 87. Kyleigh Moreno is tied for 17th at 165.

Santa Clara will compete with only four team members in Tuesday's final round. Cynthia Navis and her group were disqualified after teeing off from the incorrect tee box on the first hole and failing to correct the mistake.

Tuesday's final round is set for a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Results and a recap will be posted at the conclusion of the tournament.
