FRESNO, Calif. – Rain in the central valley delayed Monday's start of the Fresno State Classic and as a result, the tournament was shortened to 36 holes. But that didn't stop Santa Clara junior Annie Freman from taking the first-round lead after firing a program-record round of 5-under 67.

Senior Ashley Noda scored a 2-over 74 to tie for 12th and sophomore Kristin Le is a shot back tied for 19th following a 3-over 75.
With a 7-over 295 on Monday, the Broncos need to make up nine strokes in Tuesday's final round to capture their third consecutive team title. Tournament host Fresno State set the pace with a 2-under 286 followed by Boise State at 5-over 293.
Freshman Cynthia Navis carded a 79 and senior Monique Riley shot an 80. Playing as an individual, senior Meghan Shain carded a 6-over 78.
