Bartlett Named WCC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

WCC Release

SAN MATEO, Calif. – Santa Clara men's soccer was recognized by the West Coast Conference on Monday when Dylan Bartlett was named the WCC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

The sophomore forward came off the bench to score two goals to lead the Broncos to a pair of wins over Houston Baptist and Dixie State.

Against Houston Baptist on Friday night, Bartlett tallied the game winner in the 86th minute to break a 1-all tie and give the Broncos a 2-1 victory.  It was his first game-winning goal of his career.

In Sunday's contest against Dixie State in the 49th minute, Bartlett was on the receiving end of aerial passes from Oladayo Thomas and Jack Murphy that did not touch the ground before heading in the second goal of the game in the 2-0 win.

It is the first such honor for Bartlett.  The last Broncos to earn conference player of the week honors was Emil Christensen in September 2019.

The Broncos next play at Cal State Fullerton on Friday.
