SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The defending West Coast Conference Champion Santa Clara men's soccer announced its 2022 schedule featuring eight home contests and against a pair of 2021 NCAA tournament qualifiers.
The Broncos play a total of 14 regular season matches, split up evenly between seven nonconference and the customary seven conference games.
The season kicks off with three-straight home matches starting on August 25 when UNLV comes to Stevens Stadium – Buck Shaw Field, followed by UC San Diego (Aug. 28) and Cal State Fullerton (Sept. 2).
A pair of road games follow with a trip to Grand Canyon University (Sept. 9), who played in the 2021 NCAA tournament, and Utah Tech (Sept. 12).
SCU closes out the nonconference slate hosting Utah Valley (Sept. 16) and UC Davis (Sept. 24).
Flipping to the month of October, the Broncos will begin its defense of the conference title starting with a road game at Pacific (Oct. 1). Gonzaga (Oct. 8) comes to town the following week.
After a bye week, Santa Clara heads down to San Diego (Oct. 22) and plays at San Francisco (Oct. 26) in a midweek contest.
A home match against LMU (Oct. 29) is next after a short turnaround, followed by the final road contest against 2021 NCAA tournament team Portland (Nov. 5).
The Broncos close out the regular season against Saint Mary's (Nov. 12) at home.
Santa Clara plays two exhibition matches, both on the road, against Sacramento State (Aug. 16) and Cal Poly (Aug. 20) prior to the Aug. 25 regular season opener.
