Vegaalban Named WCC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

WCC Release

SAN MATEO, Calif. – Santa Clara men's soccer player Dominic Vegaalban has been named West Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference on Monday.

In only 45 minutes of action, the freshman forward tallied two goals in the 3-all draw against Cal on Saturday night in a nonconference match.

Vegaalban opened the scoring for the Broncos, finding the back of the net just seven minutes into the match on an assist from Jack Murphy

In the 14th minute, Vegaalban scored again off a rebound of Joshua Dabora's shot to give Santa Clara a 2-0 lead.

For the match, the Rocklin, California native put up four shots with three of them on target.

It is the first such honor for Vegaalban.  The last Broncos to earn conference player of the week honors was Dylan Bartlett back on September 20 of this year.

The Broncos next play San Diego at home on Saturday.
