SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis continues West Coast Conference play this weekend as it hits the road to face No. 17 Pepperdine and Loyola Marymount. The Broncos face the Waves of Pepperdine at 1:30 p.m. PT on Friday and then square off against the Lions on Sunday at 11 a.m. PT.

"We're excited for these two very different matches," head coach Ben Cabell said. "Pepperdine is a very good team, a national championship contender, we know what we're going up against but it's fun. We're going up against the best with nothing to lose and I know we'll play really well."

The Broncos enter the match with a 6-8 (1-3 WCC) record after splitting their two-match homestand last weekend, defeating Pacific 5-1 and falling to St. Mary's 4-2.

Sophomore Madison Clarke is 11-1 in dual match play this year, going 6-0 on court two and then moved up to court one and has gone 5-1. She has won five straight matches and eight of her last ten. Junior Zeina El Tawil (6-6) and senior Nabila Farah (6-5) have each won two straight singles matches.

Senior Daniella Silva and Clarke are 9-2 on court one in doubles action this season and have won seven consecutive matches. Dating back to the fall, the duo has gone 12-4 overall in doubles matches.

Pepperdine owns a record of 11-4 overall this year, is 3-0 in league play and is riding a six-match winning streak. The Waves have four players ranked in the Oracle/ITA singles rankings. No. 7 Luisa Stefani has gone 10-2 from the top-spot in dual action. At the No. 2 position, No. 16 Ashley Lahey is holding down the ranks with a perfect 10-0 record. No. 32 Mayar Sherif has gone 5-5 in dual action from the No. 3 spot and No. 85 Laura Gulbe possesses a 5-5 dual record including a 4-5 output from the No. 4 position.

Loyola Marymount is 8-6 on the year and is 1-2 in league play. Camila Tumosa owns a 9-4 record in dual play, with eight wins coming on court five and one on court four. Elvira Juravliova boasts an 8-2 record on court two for the Lions while Siobhan Andreson is 8-4 for the season on court three.

"Loyola Marymount is also very good but we're feeling good about where we're at," Cabell said. "The girls are confident and excited to go after them. We think that will be a very close match."
