NOTES

  • This will be Santa Clara's second of eight tournaments in the spring as they come off a solo 10th finish at the Arizona Thunderbirds Invitational in late January where the spread between the lowest and highest-scoring Bronco was 13 shots. Players will likely only get one dry round in over the three-day stretch as consistent rain is forecasted for Friday and Saturday.

  • The stacked 21-team field for the John Burns Intercollegiate features Santa Clara, host Hawai'i, Arizona, BYU, Cal, Fresno State, Grand Canyon, Long Beach State, LMU, Nevada, New Mexico, Sacramento State, San Diego State, Saint Mary's, Texas A&M, UNC Wilmington, UNLV, USC, Utah, UTEP, and Washington State.

  • The course is set up to play at under 7,000 yards for the tournament, an over 250-yard difference from its usual length from the back tees which should yield lower scores.

  • Santa Clara's lineup will be Julien Paltrinieri, Nolan Forsman, Viraj Garewal, Calder Overfelt, and Alex Conley. Conley returns to the starting five after playing two events in the fall.

  • Paltrinieri leads the team with a 71.58 stroke average after five events, which came down after firing an opening round 68 and placing within the top-20 at the Arizona Thunderbirds Invitational.

  • The Broncos are averaging 73.60 strokes per round as a team.

  • All of the starters playing in Hawai'i have finished in the top-25 at one event in the 2022-23 season with everyone except Overfelt doing so multiple times.
