Lihu'e, Hawai'i - Santa Clara had multiple players in red numbers today as they carded an opening round 5-under 283 and are sitting in a tie for eighth at the moment out of the 21 teams competing. The Broncos also began play of the second round today, getting in 27 holes compared to the scheduled 18 holes after coaches chose to play out more of the tournament in anticipation of rain in the coming days.

Viraj Garewal led the team today coming out hot with an eagle on his first hole of the day, the par-5 4th,  and ended up carding a 5-under 67 and is 7-under overall currently. Julien Paltrinieri and Alex Conley also had sub-par rounds as they both carded 1-under 71s; Paltrinieri is currently at 5-under overall after going 4-under through five holes to start his second round and Conley is currently at 3-over overall.

Turning in a round of 2-over 74 was Nolan Forsman which included an unfortunate 8 on the 18th but he was able to get three shots back on the following two holes and he is currently at 4-over overall. Calder Overfelt posted an opening round 9-over 81 but was able to get two birdies on the card and is only 2-over through his second round, putting him at an overall score of 11-over.

The eagles were plentiful on the front 9 for the Broncos today as a total of five were recorded. In the first round, Garewal, Forsman, and Conley each had one on the 525-yard par-5 2nd while Paltrinieri was able to make a 2 on the 335-yard par-4 7th in the second round.
