SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara men's golf will head north during spring recess to compete at The Duck Invitational hosted by the University of Oregon. This will follow their recent play just southwest of Eugene at the coast in Bandon, Ore. at the Bandon Dunes Invitational.

Entering the final half of the spring season, this will be Santa Clara's fifth of eight tournaments this spring. In their previous tournament, the Bandon Dunes Championship, the Broncos as a team finished in 9th place out of an 18-team field. The tournament was highlighted by Calder Overfelt's tied 3rd place finish, his best finish as a Bronco, and was just three shots shy of the individual medalist.

This will be the 33rd playing of The Duck Invitational and will be held at Eugene Country Club, which was established in 1899 and is Oregon's second oldest country club.

The Duck will feature a 14-team field including Santa Clara, host-Oregon, Boise State, Cal Poly, Colorado, Colorado State, Gonzaga, Grand Canyon, Idaho, Kansas, Oregon State, Pacific, San Jose State, and Texas El Paso.

The Broncos playing this week will be Viraj Garewal, Julien Paltrinieri, Overfelt, Nolan Forsman, Alex Conley, and Eugenio Bernardi (playing as an individual).

Coming off a strong T12 finish at the Bandon Dunes Invitational, Paltrinieri continues to lead the Broncos in scoring average at 71.60 strokes per round and now has five Top-20 finishes. As a team, Santa Clara's scoring average is at 73.52 strokes per round.
