NOTES

  • Santa Clara will enter the halfway point of the season as this will be their fourth of eight tournaments this spring. The Broncos are coming off a strong finish at the Desert Mountain Collegiate where they placed 4th out of 16 teams in Arizona. A variety of golf gear will be needed for the tournament as significant rain and wind are expected for the duration of their stay.

  • The stacked 18-team field includes Santa Clara, host-Idaho, Air Force,  Boise State, Drexel, Fresno State, James Madison, Long Beach State, Oregon, Oregon State, Sacramento State, San Jose State, Seattle U, Seton Hall, SIU Edwardsville, South Dakota, Utah, and Washington State.

  • The Broncos playing in Bandon will be Viraj Garewal, Julien Paltrinieri, Alex Conley, Nolan Forsman, Calder Overfelt, and Jolo Magcalayo (playing as an individual). After not being in the starting five last tournament, Overfelt will be returning to the lineup following a 7-over, T28 finish at the Desert Mountain Collegiate.

  • Also playing well at last week's event was Garewal who had two out of three rounds under par, earning him a tied-3rd finish at 2-under par, the best finish of any Bronco this season. His scoring average is under a stroke off of Paltrinieri who leads the Broncos at 71.44 strokes per round.

  • A group of four Broncos not playing in Bandon this coming week will be participating in the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout to be held at Corica Park Golf Course in Alameda, Calif. They will also get 54 holes in as it will be played over March 13-14 and the participants will be Eugenio Bernardi, Joey Hayden, Carson Kawasoe, and Cameron Kaiser.
