SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The 2020 Santa Clara women's tennis released their spring schedule featuring 11 home matches and against three 2019 NCAA Tournament qualifiers. Broncos head coach Ben Cabell made the announcement.
The Broncos will face a challenging two-week span in March, when they face the three tournament teams starting with a trip to San Diego on March 7 to open West Coast Conference play. The team returns home the following day to face another tournament team, Furman, at the Degheri Tennis Center on March 8 to kick off a stretch of five straight home matches.
After a couple of nonconference contests against South Dakota (March 13) and Drake (March 15), the defending WCC Champion Pepperdine comes to town on March 21.
Santa Clara closes out the five-match homestand against LMU on March 22.
The 11 matches at home marks the most since the 2016-17 campaign when 14 were played. Other conference home matches include Gonzaga (April 3), Portland (April 4) and San Francisco on April 18 Senior Day.
The Cal State Fullerton Tournament (Jan. 17-19) kicks off the spring season followed by their first dual match against Cal Poly (Jan. 31) in the home opener.
