Women’s Tennis Signs No. 3 Ranked Florida Girls’ 18s Player
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis signed Finley Kalinic, the No. 3 ranked Florida Girls' 18s player to a national letter of intent.  Broncos head coach Ben Cabell made the announcement.  Kalinic hails from Delray Beach, Florida and attends Florida Virtual School where she is a four-year National Honors Society member.

"I chose Santa Clara because it had the perfect combination of what I was looking for," Kalinic said.  "A great team with a great coaching staff as well as a group of girls that are all high achievers.  On top of that, the school has incredible academics.  SCU also offers incredible connections both during and after your time at the university.  As soon as I stepped on campus, I could tell that it was the right place for me."

This past spring, Kalinic won the USTA National Level 3 Girls' 18 tournament in Arizona and placed second at the USTA National Level 4 Girls' 18 tournament in Florida.

"Finley will matriculate at SCU next fall.  She has gotten strong results which is reflected in her ranking.  We are expecting her to make an immediate impact to our team next season especially since we will be losing three seniors," said Broncos head coach Ben Cabell in reference to Madison Clarke, Caitlyn Frankel and Maddie Pothoff.  "She had a lot of offers from other programs but chose Santa Clara.  She got along real well with the team when she was here on a visit and we think she has a lot of upside to her game."
