Women’s Tennis Sweeps New Mexico State 7-0 in Neutral Site Match on Sunday
TUCSON, Ariz. – Santa Clara women's tennis cruised past New Mexico State with a 7-0 sweep on Sunday in a neutral site match at the Robinson Tennis Center.  
 
Five Broncos won in both doubles and singles including Tucson natives Maddie Pothoff and Jamie Schroer along with Phoenix native Madison Clarke in a return to their home state.   
 
Schroer teamed up with Caitlyn Frankel to defeat Lucija Josipovic and Neus Torregrosa 6-3 at No. 3 to clinch the doubles point for Santa Clara (2-3).  
 
Elvena Gevargiz put the Broncos up 2-0 with her 6-4, 7-6 triumph over Chloe Gavino on court three, followed by Pothoff's win over Harsha Challa 6-3, 6-1 on court one.  
 
Freshman Giulia Hayer clinched the match with a three-set victory over Josipovic 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 at No. 6.  
 
NEXT UP
The Broncos play another away match, their fourth in a row, when they face San José State on Friday, Feb. 28.
