SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's tennis head coach Niall Angus announced on Tuesday that the Broncos have hired Jeremy Moser as an assistant coach.
Moser spent the last four seasons on the Fresno State men's tennis team helping the Bulldogs to their first ever Mountain West Championship in program history last spring. The Zurich, Switzerland native served as the Bulldogs co-captain during his junior campaign and is a two-time recipient of the Mountain West Scholar-Athlete award.
"I couldn't be more excited about joining Santa Clara Men's Tennis and start working with Niall and the team," said Moser. "Santa Clara is the optimal place for me not only because of its amazing academic opportunities, but because of the amazing team atmosphere and athletic ambitions. I do see a lot of potential with this committed group of student-athletes and I cannot wait to get to work. I am really appreciative of Niall for giving me a chance at collecting some valuable coaching experience and furthering my academic career at the same time."
In addition to his coaching duties, Moser will pursue an MBA on the Mission Campus.
The right-handed Moser compiled an overall singles record of 51-49 at Fresno State including a 20-win season during the 2017-18 campaign. In 2015, he won the Swiss Championships with his team TC Froburg Trimbach.
"Jeremy has had a successful collegiate experience as a player and is someone we know is very invested in moving into the coaching sphere of the game," said Angus. "He is very knowledgeable about both domestic and international tennis as well as passionate about the game of tennis itself. We're very excited that he is going to be bringing his intensity, energy and focus to Santa Clara. I think he's going to help get us from where we left off last season to the next stage."
Moser replaces Mikheil Khmiadashvili who spent the last two seasons on Angus' staff.
