Men’s Tennis Set to Travel to No. 48 Fresno State on Saturday

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – After a week off from competition, Santa Clara men's tennis is back on the road this week when they travel to face No. 48 Fresno State on Saturday at 1 p.m.

"We've had a little bit more time to prepare for this one than we have in previous matches so it's given us a chance to recharge our batteries during the weekend off," said Broncos head coach Niall Angus. "We've made some good strides since our match against UC Davis and looking to put to those improvements into practice on the match courts against Fresno State."

Saturday's match will be Santa Clara's (4-6) ninth away from home this spring compared to just two at home. The Broncos are 2-6 on the road thus far. Fresno State (7-5) captured the Pacific Central Valley Championship last weekend winning three matches at home against Lamar, Gonzaga and Wichita State to vault them into the top 50 rankings.

This season, the Bulldogs are 3-1 on their home courts at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.

"Fresno State is a good team reflected in their ranking and playing there is difficult with their slow courts," said Angus.

Vasileios Iliopoulos has a team-high five straight singles wins.
