Men's Tennis Doubles Team in Quarterfinals at ITA Northwest Regional Championships

2019 ITA Northwest Regional Championships Draws/Results

STANFORD, Calif. – Vasileios Iliopoulos and Arthur Neuhaus defeated doubles teams from Stanford and Cal to advance to the quarterfinals of the ITA Northwest Regional Championships on Saturday.  They will next face Gonzaga's Samuel Feit and Matthew Hollingworth on Sunday at 9:15 a.m. for a spot in the semifinals.  
 
The Broncos tandem first defeated Filip Kolasinski and Tomas Kopczynski of Stanford, 8-5, in the round of 32 before taking down Cal's Yuta Kikuchi and Mert Zincirli, 8-6, in the round of 16. 
 
In the opening day of the championships on Friday, Jesus Tapiador Barajas picked up three wins to make it to the round of 32 in both doubles and singles. However, on Saturday, while teamed up with Santiago Hinojosa, they lost the doubles match to Stanford's Neel Rajesh and Timothy Sah, 8-3.  
 
Tapiador Barajas also fell in his singles match against Paul Barretto of Cal in three sets, 1-6, 6-3, 6-1, knocking him out of the championship brackets.    
 
Santa Clara did get two wins in the consolation bracket from Arthur Neuhaus and Nick Cmager
