SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's tennis players Jesus Tapiador Barajas and Vasileios Iliopoulos will compete in the pre-qualifying singles rounds at the ITA Men's All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma starting Saturday.
"This will only be our second week of practice but playing a lot of quality matches last weekend at the Aggie Invitational has given Vas and Jesus a good starting block to try and challenge themselves against the best players in the country in the strongest tournament of the fall at the All-American Championships," said Broncos head coach Niall Angus. "They've earned the right to get into the draw and it's an opportunity to showcase what they've got and represent Santa Clara."
The University of Tulsa is hosting the championships for the 14th straight season, with the matches taking placed on the courts of the Michal D. Case Tennis Center.
Tapiador Barajas and Iliopoulos will be competing in the pre-qualifying singles rounds starting on Saturday amongst a 256 player draw with the final 16 advancing to the qualifying draw.
