Men’s Tennis Faces UC Davis on the Road This Saturday
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Coming off two straight sweeps at home, Santa Clara men's tennis travels to face UC Davis on Saturday.  First serve is at noon at the Marya Welch Tennis Center.

UC Davis (5-3) is 3-0 at home this season and have played three West Coast Conference schools beating Pacific and Saint Mary's but losing to San Francisco.

"We played at UC Davis two years ago and it came down to the last match and were lucky enough to come out with a 4-3 win.  They are a good team particularly at home.  It's going to be a tough challenge but we want to use the momentum from this past weekend and hopefully we will be successful," said Broncos head coach Niall Angus.

The Broncos (4-5) swept Sacramento State and Holy Names 7-0 last weekend and have now won three of their last four matches.

"It was a good weekend to give us some momentum as it was our first matches back home where we've been successful in the past.  I thought the players really relished the opportunity playing in front of the home support and executed well," said Angus.  "The freshmen, Ryan Ali and Matthew Rodriguez stepped in and got a chance to play.  They did a good job of bringing a lot of energy and competitiveness.  They've been working hard in practice so it just shows that we are deep enough to have trust in our guys in the bottom end of the lineup to come in and be successful."
