Two Men's Basketball Players Voted Preseason All-Conference

SAN MATEO, Calif. – Senior forward Josip Vrankic and junior guard Jalen Williams of Santa Clara men's basketball landed on the 2021-22 preseason All-West Coast Conference team.

Two of 10 players voted to the squad by the league's coaches, Vrankic was a first team All-WCC selection last season and Williams an honorable mention choice.

Vrankic, a four-year starter, was first on the team in scoring (15.2 points per game) and rebounding (8.2 pg) last season. The 17th-leading scorer in school history (1,426), he became the first Bronco to lead the conference in rebounding since Yannick Attanga in 2012-13.

Williams has played in 51 career games with starts in his last 41 appearances. He was second on the team in scoring (11.5) in 2020-21 and was first in steals (1.2), a mark that ranked 10th in the league.

The 2021-22 season begins on Tuesday, Nov. 9, at home against Cal State Fullerton.
