NOTES

  • The Broncos are looking to improve to 6-2 in home games this season as they get set to host the 3-6 Mountaineers
  • The duo of Jalen Williams and Keshawn Justice has been unstoppable at times throughout the season and certainly in the last few games. Williams averaged 29.0 ppg last week while Justice scored 18 in both games.
  • Santa Clara ranks 18th nationally in both field goal percentage (49.7) and total assists (151).
  • Jalen Williams,  a preseason all-conference pick after earning honorable mention honors a season ago, has been giving opposing coaches all sorts of headaches as they try to find ways to slow the junior down. He is the WCC's leading scorer at 20.1 ppg (27th nationally), and ranks in the top-16 nationally in total points (11th), free throws made (12th) and field goals made (16th). Williams posted a career-high 30 points against Hawai'i and nearly repeated the feat in the next game against Louisiana Tech with 28 points.
  • Keshawn Justice has been Mr. Reliable for the Broncos this season. Not only is he getting the job done on the boards (22nd nationally with 7.00 defensive rebounds per game), he has also excelled from beyond the arc with a 47.2 shooting clip (28th nationally). Justice has three double-doubles on the year, the most in the WCC. He currently ranks third on the team with 15.1 ppg and leads with 7.4 rebounds.
  • Mount St. Mary's is 3-6 on the year in what is a very difficult nonconference slate. The Mountaineers have faced a pair of top-15 teams (No. 4 Villanova, L, 91-51) and No.13 Kentucky (L, 80-55). They are currently scoring just under 65 points per game and are giving up 72.7 points to their opponents. Individually, Jalen Benjamin has been as consistent as they come at the free throw line where he currently ranks in the top-25 nationally at 90.9 percent.
  • The Broncos and Mountaineers are facing off for just third time all-time and first since 1998. The series is currently split at one apiece.
