NOTES

  • Santa Clara is 3-0 and owns wins over two quality opponents - Stanford (88-72) and Nevada (96-74). The high-powered offense has been clicking on all cylinders early on. The Broncos currently rank sixth nationally in FG percentage (56.1) and seventh in both assists per game (22.3) and assist-to-turnover ratio (2.23).

  • It's full speed ahead for the streaking Broncos after taking down back-to-back quality opponents in Stanford and Nevada. They are looking to keep the momentum rolling as the gear up to take on a 1-2 Cal Poly squad in what will be their fourth home game to open the season.

  • Santa Clara and Nevada played an even first half before the Broncos turned the dial to 11 in the second half to blowout the visitors from the Mountain West. The Broncos shot 52.9 percent for the game and had four players reach double figures. Parker
    Braun
had a career-best game of 19 points on 9-of-10 shooting to go with six rebounds and three blocks. Keshawn Justice nearly had his second straight double-double with 18 points and eight boards while Jalen Williams scored 18 of his own. PJ Pipes overcame a quiet first half to score 12 points after the halftime break.

  • Few teams in the nation have dished out assists like the Broncos have. In their last two games, they are averaging 24.0 assists per outing.

  • Cal Poly is currently 1-2 on the young season and is coming off a heartbreaking loss at the hands of Sacramento State. The Mustangs are currently limiting their opponents to just 38.6 percent from the floor and are plus-5.3 in rebound margin. Alimamy Koroma (15.) and Jacob Davison (14.3) have led the scoring charge early on.

  • The game is part of the inaugural SoCal Challenge. After taking on the Mustangs, Santa Clara will head to San Juan Capistrano to take on TCU and Fresno State.
