NOTES

  • The Broncos are set to play their fourth game in the last seven days on the road against San Jose State. The nonconference affair against their crosstown rivals will serve as Santa Clara's final game before the start of conference play on Dec. 30 against Pacific in Stockton. 

  •  Santa Clara is currently 9-5 in nonconference games this season, their most wins before the start of league play since 2012-13 when the Broncos were 11-3. 

  •  The Broncos are currently fifth in the WCC standings with league play beginning in just 10 days. 

  •  Santa Clara ranks in the top 40 nationally in the following categories: total assists (6th), free throws made (15th), field goal percentage (18th), free throw percentage (24th), total rebounds (21st) and 3-pt percentage (37th). 

  • Head Coach Herb Sendek is two wins shy of 500 for his career. 
  •  Led by first-year head coach Tim Miles, San Jose State is having one of their best starts in recent history at 6-4 and is coming off a big road win against Portland in which the Spartans set a new program record with 17 3-pointers. The Spartans have fared better than just about everyone in 3-point shooting this season, currently seventh nationally in 3-point percentage (41.1) and 23rd with 10.1 triples per game. Junior guard Omari Moore has been SJSU's most efficient player with a team-best 15.2 ppg and 5.0 apg (40th nationally).

  • Santa Clara and San Jose State have met many times on the hardwood as crosstown rivals. The Broncos own the all-time record 82-30, and have taken three of the last five in the series, including the last meeting (89-84).
