NOTES

  • Riding high after a two-game win streak at home, the Broncos will make the short drive up to San Francisco to take on USF at 4 p.m. on Saturday. Santa Clara will then turn around and host Pacific for a 6 p.m. tip on Monday in what will be their fourth game in eight days.

  • Santa Clara has momentum in their favor after back-to-back wins over San Diego and BYU. The Broncos are coming off their first victory over BYU since 2017.

  • The Broncos are sitting in fifth in the WCC standings at 3-2 in league play and 13-7 overall.

  • Jalen Williams took charge and called game, scoring a game-high 26 points including the game-winning bucket with just 0.7 seconds on the clock to lead the Broncos to a huge 77-76 win over BYU inside the Leavey Center in Santa Clara's last outing. It was the Broncos' first win over the Cougars since Jan. 26, 2017. Josip Vrankic scored 14 pts while Parker Braun secured his first career double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. The game was a back-and-forth affair all night long with neither team building more than a four-point lead. PJ Pipes, who finished with 10 points, knocked down a must-have 3-pointer inside the final 30 seconds to play, setting up the dramatic final possessions that ultimately ended with the Broncos walking away with a well-earned victory.

  • The Broncos rank in the top 35 nationally in field goal percentage (21st) and 3pt percentage (33rd).

  • San Francisco is currently one spot behind the Broncos in the league standings at 3-3 in WCC play and 16-5 overall. The Dons are coming off a tough 72-70 loss against Saint Mary's, and have lost three of their last four games. The Dons have one of the best players in the league in the form of Jamaree Bouyea, who joins Jalen Williams as the only WCC players on the Lou Henson Award Mid-Season Watch List. Bouyea is currently third in the conference with 18.0 ppg.

  • Santa Clara holds a slim 116-112 lead in the all-time series, however the Dons have won four of the last five. The Broncos' last win came on Feb. 23, 2019 (68-65). Their last win at San Francisco was Jan. 18, 2018 (65-62).
