NOTES

  • The Broncos will host Montana on Sunday in their final home game until Jan. 1. The game will serve as the penultimate nonconference game of the slate with a road test against San Jose State awaiting on Tuesday, Dec. 21.

  • Santa Clara (8-5) got back on the right side of the tracks with an 80-66 win over Florida A&M on Friday in the first of two home games on the weekend. The Broncos overcame a sluggish start by using a big second half push behind Jalen Williams and Josip Vrankic to pull ahead late in pick up win No. 8 on the year. Williams notched 25 points while Vrankic scored 12 and Keshawn Justice added 14 on four 3-balls. It is the team's seventh time this season scoring 80 or more points (all victories).

  • With some momentum in their back pocket, Santa Clara will look to close out the nonconference slate with two more wins to head into the Christmas break with 10 victories under their belts.

  • The Broncos tallied 18 assists in the win over the Rattlers and are currently sixth nationally with 209 total assists on the year.

  • Santa Clara is currently the nation's 17th-best shooting team with a 49.2 percent mark from the floor. They are also 28th in free-throw percentage (77.4)

  • Four players - Keshawn Justice, Jalen Williams, Parker Braun and PJ Pipes - have started every game for the Broncos this season. Not only have they started, they've stayed on the court longer than just about anyone on the national scale. All four rank in the top-11 nationally in total minutes played - Justice (4th), Williams (5th), Braun (8th), Pipes (11th).

  • Jalen Williams, coming off his sixth 20-point game of the year, is currently the nation's leader in total points with 252. He is also second in total field goals made (89) and fifth in free throws made (57).
  • Montana is one of the nation's most efficient teams at this point in the season, commiting just 9.8 turnovers per game (11th in NCAA) with the nation's ninth-best assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.7. The Grizzlies thrive at the free throwline with an 80.5 percent clip from the charity stripe, and they are currently outscoring opponents by 13.6 points. They have three scorers currently averaging 9.8 points or more led by sophomore forward Josh Bannan's 12.1 ppg.

  • Santa Clara owns the all-time record over Montana 6-2 and are 2-1 in such games played in Santa Clara. The teams last met on Nov. 30, 2008, a 71-68 Bronco win in Missoula.
