No. 12 Women's Soccer Has Eight Named All-WCC

SAN MATEO, Calif. – Ahead of the NCAA Tournament, No. 12 Santa Clara women's soccer had eight players honored on the All-West Coast Conference teams.

For the third year in a row Alex Loera was named the league's Defender of the Year and was First Team All-WCC along with Izzy D'Aquila and Kelsey Turnbow.

Kaile Halvorsen was named to the second team with Kylie Foutch and Lucy Mitchell taking home honorable mention. Colby Barnett and Karly Reeves were named WCC All-Freshman.

Loera finished second on the team with seven assists and added two goals, including the game-winner at Saint Mary's to clinch a share of the WCC title for the Broncos. During conference play she led a defense that allowed just six goals. This is her fourth first team nod.

Turnbow was named to the first team for the fifth time. She led Santa Clara in goals (9), assists (9), and points (27) with four game-winning goals. In conference action, Turnbow had six goals and seven assists.

D'Aquila was second on Santa Clara with six goals and 15 points while adding three assists. She scored four times with two assists in league play. It is the second year in a row she was named to the first team.

Halvorsen came to life during conference play, scoring all three of her goals and adding her one assist. She had a two-goal match against LMU on Senior Day.

Foutch stepped in as the starter midway through the year and started eight of the nine conference games. She allowed six goals for a 0.79 GAA and had 24 saves, good for a .800 save percentage. She collected four clean sheets in league play.

Mitchell twice subbed in a scored goals off her first touch of the match. She finished the regular season with four goals and two assists, all coming in WCC play.

Barnett finished the season with two assists while playing in 15 games. After starting three games early on, she was an important reserve coming off the bench.

Reeves helped the back line appearing in 10 games overall. Overall the team allowed just 0.89 goals per match.
