Kelsey Turnbow Named 2021 Women's MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Senior Kelsey Turnbow has been named a semifinalist for the 2021 Women's MAC Hermann Trophy. She is one of 15 still in the running for the prestigious award.

The MAC Hermann Trophy, presented by World Wide Technology, is the most coveted individual honor in NCAA Division I soccer and has been awarded annually since 1967. Most recently, Jaelin Howell (Florida State) and Gloire Amanda (Oregon State) received the award for outstanding intercollegiate performances last year.

Three women's finalists will be named for the award on Wednesday, Dec. 8 in conjunction with the Women's College Cup in Santa Clara, Calif. The 2021 MAC Hermann Trophy banquet will be held at the historic Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis on Jan. 7, 2022 to formally announce this year's winners.

The men's semifinalists will be announced on Tuesday, Dec. 7 with finalist scheduled for Dec. 15. For more information about the history of the MAC Hermann Trophy, visit MACHermannTrophy.org.

Turnbow leads Santa Clara in goals (11), assists (12), and points (34). She also has a team-leading five game-winning goals, including in the national quarterfinals at Duke. The senior was named First Team All-WCC for the fifth time this season.

Her performance this year has moved her into fifth place all-time at Santa Clara with 56 goals, 38 assists, and 150 points. She is one of just six Broncos to reach the 25 goal-25 assist plateau.

The Broncos take on West Coast Conference rival BYU in the national semifinals Friday at 6:30 p.m. as they try to repeat as national champions on their home field.
