SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The awards continue to pile up for Kelsey Turnbow as she was named the Mike Gilleran WCC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year on Wednesday at a banquet held by the conference.

The Mike Gilleran Scholar-Athlete of the Year is selected by a vote of the WCC's Executive Council to recognize the finest accomplishments in athletics, academics and community service by individuals who have completed their collegiate eligibility. The award is named in honor of the conference's first full-time commissioner, Mike Gilleran.

Turnbow concluded her historic Santa Clara career in the fall as she helped the Broncos to their second consecutive, and 12th overall, College Cup a year after she was named the College Cup Most Outstanding Offensive Player as Santa Clara won its second National Championship.

Her performance landed her First Team All-America honors, her second-consecutive nod after a third team placement in 2020. The forward ended her illustrious career in fifth place all-time at Santa Clara with 56 goals and 150 points. Her 38 assists are tied for fourth-most in program history. She is one of just eight Broncos to reach the 25 goal-25 assist plateau.

In the classroom, Turnbow was honored with as a Third Team Academic All-American. She was 2020 WCC All-Academic and honorable mention in 2018 and 2019.
