U.S. Amateur Championship Scoring

Santa Clara men's golfer Matt McCarty will look to repeat the success he had on a familiar course at this year's U.S. Amateur Championship.

McCarty will tee it up in the 120th edition of the USGA event on Monday at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, Oregon.

Last year, McCarty joined with former teammate Derek Ackerman to advance to the quarterfinals of the U.S. Amateur Championship at the same venue. The 264 golfers earning a spot in the U.S. Amateur will play on both the Bandon Dunes and Bandon Trails courses.

McCarty will tee off at 1:25 p.m. Pacific in the opening round on Bandon Trails. His tee time for Tuesday's second round is 9:12 a.m. on Bandon Dunes. The top 64 golfers in the field after 36 holes move on to match play. The tournament concludes Sunday.

The Scottsdale, Arizona native, who will return to the team in the fall as a fifth-year senior, also had one of best collegiate performances at Bandon Dunes. He tied for fifth at the 2018 Bandon Dunes Championship with a 7-under 206.
