Men’s Golf to Compete in The Goodwin

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Fresh off a fifth-place finish at the Duck Invitational, Santa Clara men's will participate in The Goodwin at Stanford.

The three-day event gets underway on Thursday at the Stanford Golf Course, which will not be open to spectators.

Matt McCarty, Jack Avrit, Berk Harvey, Alex Conley and Oscar Zimmerman will comprise the Santa Clara lineup in the deep 28-team field.

Finishing in a tie for ninth place, Avrit led the Broncos at the Duck Invitational, which concluded on Tuesday.

Santa Clara will be playing at Stanford for the second time this season. The teams faced off in a season-opening medal match play event with the Cardinal prevailing, 8-5.

The field for The Goodwin features 14 teams ranked among the top 75 in the nation by Golfstat.com, including No. 8 Arizona State, No. 12 Pepperdine and No. 19 SMU.

The Broncos will tee off at 7 a.m. on Thursday and noon on Friday. Follow the scoring on Golftstat.com.
