BANDON, Ore. – Berk Harvey is just two shots off the lead and Santa Clara men's golf is in seventh place with a shot for a top-three finish after 36 holes at the Bandon Dunes Championship.
Harvey shot a 2-under-par 69 in Monday's second round and sits in a tie for second at 5-under 137 with Christoffer Palsson of San Francisco and Nate Stember of Oregon.
Tommy Stephenson of Fresno State leads the pack at 7-under 135 after firing a second-round best 65.
The Broncos are at 5-over 573 (284-289) with three strokes separating them from fourth place Fresno State and Boise State.
San Francisco leads the field at 11-under 557 (274-283). Long Beach State at 5-under 563 (281-282) and Oregon at even-par 568 (279-289) round out the top three at the 14-team event which is being held at Bandon Trails Golf Course.
Jack Avrit is also among the top 20 for the Broncos, sitting in a tie for 18th at 1-over 143 (67-76).
Zack Kaneshiro is tied for 43rd and Matt McCarty tied for 49th. They each shot 72 on Tuesday. Kaneshiro is at 7-over 149 and McCarty is one shot behind him.
Alex Conley's second-round score of 75 was disqualified for signing an incorrect scorecard. He will, however, tee it up in Tuesday's final round. He had a 1-over 72 in Sunday's opening round on the 6,752-yard course.
Playing as an individual, Oscar Zimmerman is tied for 58th at 9-over 151 (76-75).
There will be a shotgun start for the final round, which commences at 8:30 a.m. Following scoring on Golfstat.com.
