Postseason Play Begins for Men's Golf

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara men's golf begins play in the West Coast Conference Championship on Thursday.

The postseason opens with the three-day event which will take place at Reflection Bay Golf Club in Henderson, Nevada.

The Broncos, who played six regular-season tournaments, will feature of lineup of Matt McCarty, Jack Avrit, Berk Harvey, Oscar Zimmerman and Alex Conley. Zack Kaneshiro will also travel as a potential substitute.

McCarty has led the way this season with a team-best 70.89 stroke average and four top-10 finishes. He is now ranked No. 63 nationally by Golfstat.com.

Avrit and Harvey have joined McCarty in all six events. Avrit's scoring average of 72.94 is third on the team and Harvey is fourth at 73.11.

"I'm excited to see the guys reach their peak this event," Santa Clara head coach Andrew Larkin said. "The guys have been putting in the work and are ready to go achieve something."

Tee times on the par-72 course begin at 7 a.m. Pacific all three days. Santa Clara starts teeing off in the opening round at 7:50 a.m. from hole No. 1. Follow scoring at Golfstat.com.
