Welcome the Future of Women's Basketball: Andraya Flor

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Head coach JR Payne and Santa Clara women's basketball welcomed walk on Andraya Flor to the team this summer. Flor comes from Bothell, Wash. and attended Seattle Prep.

"I chose Santa Clara because it offered the best combination of basketball and academics for me," said Flor. "The high standards that everyone is held to, on and off the court, really drove me to choose Santa Clara as the place I want to be. I'm looking forward to being a Bronco."

"Andraya will be a great asset to the Santa Clara community," said Payne. "She is one of many players on our team from the Northwest and already is a great fit here at SCU."

Flor was All-Metro Second Team as a senior and the Week 3 and Week 7 All-USA Western Washington High School Girls Basketball Performer of the week. She scored 29 points with 21 rebounds against Bainbridge and averaged 15.2 ppg, 10 rpg, and 3.0 spg. As a sophomore her team finished second in state.

She also played soccer where her team went undefeated in the regular season her senior year. Her junior year the team finished in fourth place in the state.

Flor was a member of The Way to Win basketball club and the Washington Rush soccer club.

Off the court Flor was a National Honor Society officer, a National Merit Commended Scholar. She won the John Goodwin Athlete of the Year her senior year. In her free time she enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends.
