SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Looking to start another winning streak, Santa Clara women's basketball returns home to face BYU Thursday at 6 p.m. The Broncos fell at Gonzaga on Jan. 2 to snap their 12 game winning streak, tied for the longest in program history.

Santa Clara (12-3, 3-1 WCC) is outscoring opponents 66.7-56.0 and outrebounding teams 41.9-32.1. The Broncos are shooting 40.1 percent (354 of 882) from the field and have hit 54 3-pointers.

The Santa Clara defense forces 24.2 turnovers per game and collects 13.5 steals per game. Those numbers are sixth and fifth in the nation, respectively. The Broncos 203 total steals are No. 1 nationally.

Morgan McGwire leads Santa Clara with 12.3 points per game and is third in the West Coast Conference in shooting percentage with a 53.1 percent (78 of 147) mark. She is second on the team with 6.3 rebounds per game while adding 1.8 steals per game and 1.1 blocks per game.

Lori Parkinson is the top rebounder on the team with 6.4 per contest and is scoring 11.2 ppg. Savanna Hanson is scoring 9.3 ppg to go with a team-high 2.4 apg and leads the Broncos with 15 3-pointers made. Taylor Berry leads the WCC, and is 15th nationally, with 40 steals and is adding 7.5 ppg and 3.3 rpg.

Santa Clara is 1-10 all-time vs. BYU and 1-5 at the Leavey Center. Last year the Cougars took both meetings.

BYU (10-4, 2-1 WCC) is outscoring opponents 68.3-60.8 and outrebounding teams 39.2-36.4. The Cougars are shooting 42.3 percent (348 of 823) from the field and 36.4 percent (78 of 214) from beyond the arc.

Lexi Rydalch leads the WCC with 23.4 ppg and has hit a team-high 33 3-pointers. She adds 5.9 rpg and 3.2 apg. Kalani Purcell is tops in the conference with 12.1 rpg and is soring 10.0 ppg to average a double-double. She also leads the team with 3.9 apg. Makenzi Pulsipher is scoring 11.9 ppg and grabbing 2.6 rpg to go with a team-best 27 steals.
