SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's basketball returns to play Saturday at 2 p.m. vs. San Diego. The Broncos are looking to get back on track after falling to BYU on Thursday in a close game.

Santa Clara (12-4, 3-2 WCC) is outscoring opponents 66.4-56.8 and outrebounding teams 41.9-32.9. The Broncos are shooting 39.7 percent (376 of 947) from the field and have hit 57 3-pointers. They force 23.6 turnovers a game and collect 13.3 steals per game. Their 213 total steals are second nationally while their steals per game is No. 5 in the country.

Morgan McGwire leads the team in scoring with 11.8 points per game and is first in the WCC in field goal percentage (52.6). She is second on the team with 6.1 rebounds per game and has collected 27 steals. Lori Parkinson leads Santa Clara with 6.6 rpg and 18 blocks and is second in scoring with 11.1 ppg. Savanna Hanson averages a team-high 2.4 assists per game and scores 8.8 ppg while leading the team with 15 3-pointers. Taylor Berry is tops in the conference with 42 steals and adds 7.4 ppg.

Santa Clara is 32-36 all-time vs. San Diego and 19-13 in Leavey. Last year the Toreros beat the Broncos three times, including at the WCC tournament.

San Diego (13-2, 3-1 WCC) is outscoring opponents 72.1-59.1 and outrebounding teams 39.2-32.5. The Toreros are shooting 42.7 percent (398 of 933) from the field and 32.0 percent (66 of 206) from beyond the arc.

Malina Hood leads San Diego with 20.6 ppg and 2.5 spg. She adds 6.8 rpg and has hit a team-high 34 3-pointers. Maya Hood is tops on the roster with 9.3 rpg and is second with 14.5 ppg. Cori Woodward leads the Toreros with 4.4 apg and scores 6.9 ppg.
