Regular Season Wraps Up for Women's Basketball at Pacific

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Getting set for the regular season finale, Santa Clara women's basketball travels to Pacific on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Broncos are battling for the No. 3 seed in the WCC tournament.

On Thursday Santa Clara fell to Saint Mary's 78-70.

Santa Clara is outscoring opponents 66.1-57.3 and outrebounding teams 40.9-33.0. The Broncos lead the WCC in scoring defense and are No. 22 in the country in rebound margin. They are 16 in the nation in offensive rebounds per game.

They also are third nationally in steals (371) and steals per game (13.3) while placing sixth in turnovers forced per game (22.3).

The Broncos are No. 8 in the country with 628 free throw attempts and No. 11 with 435 free throws made.

Lori Parkinson leads the team in scoring with 11.4 ppg and is tied for the team lead with 6.5 rpg. She is also fourth in the conference with 1.1 bpg and fifth with 2.3 spg.

Marie Bertholdt, the reigning WCC Player of the Week, is tied for the team lead with 6.5 rpg and is second in scoring with 10.2 ppg.

Savanna Hanson is scoring 8.0 ppg while leading the team with 2.5 apg. She also leads the Broncos with 23 3-pointers made.

Taylor Berry is second on the WCC with 2.5 spg and is adding 7.8 ppg to go with 4.0 rpg.

Santa Clara is 26-20 all-time vs. Pacific with the first meeting coming in 1974-75. Earlier this year the Broncos topped the Tigers 76-52 in Leavey.

Pacific is outscoring opponents 69.5-68.5 but is being outrebounded 42.7-39.4. The Tigers are shooting 37.9 percent from the floor and 29.5 percent beyond the arc.

Hailie Eackles leads the team with 13.1 ppg and has hit a team-high 69 3-pointers. She is also adding 2.0 apg and 1.0 spg.

GeAnna Lualu-Summers is fourth in the conference with 3.9 apg and is scoring 10.6 ppg. She is adding 4.0 rpg as well.

Desire Finnie scores 11.5 ppg and leads the team with 41 steals. She is grabbing 3.8 rpg.
