Opening Week Concludes for No. 13 Women's Soccer With Visit from Oregon Sunday

SANTA CLARA, Calif.– No. 13 Santa Clara women's soccer closes out the opening weekend of the season with a home showdown against Oregon Sunday at 1 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 2-0-1 all-time against Oregon with the first meeting coming in 2000. The last meeting was a scoreless draw in Eugene in 2011.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (0-1) had a strong performance in the season-opener despite coming on the short end. The Broncos had a 19-9 edge in shots and an 8-5 lead in shots on frame. They also earned 13 corner kicks while allowing just two.

Izzy D'Aquila and Kelsey Turnbow both found the back of the net with Julie Doyle adding an assist. Alex Loera led the team with four shots and D'Aquila and Doyle both attempted three.

Courtney Ogren picked up two saves.

THE DUCKS
Oregon (0-0-1) tied Fresno State 2-2 in the first game of the season. The Ducks and Bulldogs both had nine shots with Oregon putting four on goal to three by Fresno State. The Ducks held the advantage in corners 9-4.

Jordan Wormdahl scored both goals for Oregon with Zoe Hasenauer adding an assist and attempted two shots, both on frame. Five other Ducks attempted one shot each.

In net, Katelyn Carter made two saves.

Group discounts are also available through our ticket office sales and service consultants. Gates to Stevens Stadium, as well as its ticket office, are open one hour prior to the start of the match.

PARKING
For weekday matches, the Leavey Center lot (see below for access), located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to kickoff. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located adjacent to Stevens Stadium on Palm Drive. During the weekend, campus parking facilities are free (except for permit required locations). Click here for a campus map and parking restrictions.

The construction of the Stephen C. and Patricia A. Schott Athletic Excellence Center has necessitated the closure of the main entrance (off Accolti Way) to the Leavey Center parking lot. Access is now ONLY directly from El Camino Real (Route 82). If you are traveling east on El Camino Real, the Leavey lot entrance will be approximately 150 yards on the right (enter through the black iron gate) after you pass the main campus entrance. If you are traveling west on El Camino, make a u-turn at the main campus entrance at Palm Drive/Railroad Ave and follow the same directions.
