Meet the Future of Women's Soccer: Marisa Bubnis

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's soccer has signed Marisa Bubnis to a National Letter of Intent. Bubnis is from Carlsbad, Calif. and attended Carlsbad High School.

Bubnis was a team captain as a senior and her team's MVP as a sophomore. As a junior, she was named the team's defensive MVP. In 2019 she was All CIF-San Diego First Team, Avocado West First Team, TopDrawerSoccer All-Region and All-State All-American.

Playing club for the SoCal Blues, she has helped lead the team to ECNL national championships in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. In 2015 her team was USYS regional champions and national finalists. In 2012, her San Diego Surf team were Cal South State Cup finalists and in 2011 they won the championship. From 2015-19, her SC Blues team were ECNL Southwest League champions.

In the classroom, Bubnis earned All-Academic honors every year. She plans to major in business.

In her free time, she enjoys shopping, hiking, and going to the beach.
