No. 23 Women's Soccer Looks To Keep Unbeaten Streak Alive Against LMU

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – No. 23 Santa Clara women's soccer puts its eight match unbeaten streak on the line when it hosts LMU Saturday at 1 p.m. in the second to last home game of the regular season.

Last week the Broncos had a thrilling three-goal second half comeback to beat Pepperdine 4-3 and a 1-0 win at Gonzaga.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 21-4-1 all-time against LMU with the first meeting coming in 1993. Last season the Broncos picked up a 3-2 win in Los Angeles. They have won eight in a row in the series.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (10-5-2, 4-0-2 WCC) is No. 8 in the country with 2.59 goals per game and No. 6 in both assists per game (2.71) and points per game (7.88). The Broncos have outscored their opponents 44-21 with a 267-162 lead in shots and a 135-91 edge in shots on goal.

Kelsey Turnbow, the WCC Player of the Week, is 16th in the nation with 31 points and nine assists and is tied for the team lead with 11 goals. Izzy D'Aquila also has 11 goals and has 25 points. Kelcie Hedge has scored five times with six assists and Machaela George also has six assists with three goals scored. Maddy Gonzalez has scored four times to go with four assists as well.

Courtney Ogren has started 16 matches and made 59 saves for a .738 save percentage. Sophie Whitehouse made the last start and picked up a shutout, the eighth of the year for the team.

THE LIONS
LMU (4-10-2, 3-3 WCC) has been outscored 29-19 on the season and outshot 196-183 with an 84-75 deficit in shots on target. Amber McCorkle and Ali King are tied for the team lead with three goals each with five others adding two apiece. Simone Handy and Skylar Robledo have a team leading three assists each.

Sadie Kenny has played in 12 games and made 37 saves for a .712 save percentage. Lee Erickson has appeared in seven matches with 18 saves for a .562 save percentage. The two have combined for two shutouts.

PARKING
For weekday matches, the Leavey Center lot (see below for access), located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to kickoff. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located adjacent to Stevens Stadium on Palm Drive. The construction of the Stephen C. and Patricia A. Schott Athletic Excellence Center has necessitated the closure of the main entrance (off Accolti Way) to the Leavey Center parking lot. Access is now ONLY directly from El Camino Real (Route 82). If you are traveling east on El Camino Real, the Leavey lot entrance will be approximately 150 yards on the right (enter through the black iron gate) after you pass the main campus entrance. If you are traveling west on El Camino, make a u-turn at the main campus entrance at Palm Drive/Railroad Ave and follow the same directions.
